Xpedition Archery built the Xtraction 400X around compactness first: at 8 inches cocked, it's roughly half the width of Barnett's budget options, a real, noticeable difference if you hunt from a tight treestand, ladder stand, or popup blind where a wide bow means constantly repositioning to avoid hitting the walls.
That narrow profile doesn't come at the cost of speed — 400 FPS from a 180 lb draw weight rivals crossbows costing two to three times as much — and at 7.7 lbs it's light enough for all-day carry on a spot-and-stalk hunt. It ships as a full ready-to-hunt package with an illuminated 4x32 scope, 5-bolt quiver, and rope cocker, plus an anti-dry-fire trigger. The tradeoffs: Xpedition is a smaller, newer brand than Barnett or CenterPoint, its review history here is thinner (35 ratings vs. hundreds for the established names), and a handful of owners report string or dampener issues out of the box — worth a careful inspection before your first shot.
