Privacy Policy

HuntGearGuide does not require an account. We do not collect passwords or payment information. We do collect limited personal information when you choose to send it to us, and we collect usage data through Google Analytics.

Contact form. The contact page collects your name, email address, topic, and message so we can reply. We use this only to respond to you.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send occasional updates about new guides and tools. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Gear review submissions. The Send Gear for Review form collects brand name, contact name, email, product name, product URL, category, and a description so we can evaluate the request.

Email my list. If you ask us to email a saved picks list, we collect the email address you enter and use it only to send that message. Delivery may go through our email provider, Resend.

Usage data. Google Analytics collects information about how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on page, clicks, and general location (country or region). This data is used in aggregate to improve the site.

We use cookies and similar technologies. Third parties may also place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses to collect information, as described below.

Essential (always on). We store your theme preference (light or dark) in local storage so the site does not flash the wrong theme. This is not used for advertising.

Analytics (Google Analytics). Google Analytics places cookies to measure traffic and usage patterns. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense). HuntGearGuide does not currently display ads. We may add Google AdSense later. If ads are shown, Google and third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to serve, measure, and personalize ads based on your visits to this site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Affiliate tracking.We may load affiliate tags (including AvantLink). When you click an affiliate link to Amazon, CJ Affiliate, or another partner, that merchant may also set cookies to track the referral. We do not control merchant cookies; see each merchant's privacy policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

If we later show Google AdSense ads to visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will use a Google-supported consent tool so those visitors can accept or reject personalized ads before they are served.

HuntGearGuide participates in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, and others. When you purchase through an affiliate link on our site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our product recommendations or editorial content.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to contact, newsletter, review, and saved-list requests you send us
• Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve tools and content
• Monitor site performance and diagnose technical issues
• Attribute affiliate referrals when you click a partner link
• Display relevant advertising through Google AdSense if ads are later shown on the site

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
