Ravin R500E XK7 Review (2026)
Overview
The Ravin R500E XK7 is the fastest production crossbow in our lineup at 500 FPS, achieved through an electric drive cocking system rather than the manual crank or rope systems used on every other bow here — engage the drive, and the bow cocks itself.
That speed and the electric drive come at a real cost, both in price (just under $3,000) and in field logistics: the electric system needs battery management, particularly in cold weather, which is worth planning for on late-season hunts. In exchange, Ravin rates the R500E XK7 for sub-half-inch groups at 100 yards, an accuracy claim that puts it in a different tier than anything else in this lineup, and its power makes it the clearest choice here for hunters targeting elk at longer effective range. At 7.9 lbs, it's also the heaviest bow in the lineup — the practical tradeoff for the electric cocking hardware and added kinetic energy.
